Home Movie Depot provides you with specific barcodes to ensure the safety and prompt processing of your order. To avoid delays in processing, it is important that you tape these barcodes onto each movie. The barcodes also allow you to specify the sequence that you in which you would like your movies to be transferred. i.e. if the barcode reads: 304572-001 that film or video would be transferred first. If you have difficulties or are otherwise unable to get the barcodes use a marker to label the film or video(s) with your order number and the sequence in which you would you like your film or video transferred to DVD. i.e. 304572-001

2. Pack your film or video
Once you have applied the barcodes to your film or video movies place your film or video order into a Ziploc bag (to protect from moisture during transit) and a sturdy box for shipping. Avoid bubble mailers or envelopes!. Newspaper, bubble wrap, or packing peanuts will provide good cushion for the films in the box. Send them to the address below:

35mm Slides, 35mm Negatives, and Photos

How to Pack your slide, negative, and photo order

In order to ensure that your 35 mm slide, 35 mm negative, and photo scanning order is safe and secure during shipping and the digitization process, we have included the following guidelines. You can also order a ship kit with your order and we will provide the necessary materials for packing and shipping your order. During the order process, you will be prompted to print out barcodes that will help us track and organize your slide, negative, or photo transfer order, as well as separate your digitized images into chapters. Each media type (Slide, Negative, Photo, film, or video) must have at least one barcode. Additional barcodes will allow us to divide media types into chapters or files. We are more than happy to accept 35mm slides, 35mm negatives, photos, as well as many video tape and film reel formats in the same order.

How to pack

As the graphic shows, place the slide number on the front, upper right hand corner of the cardboard slide mount. (Regretfully, we can not accept slides encased in metal holders at this time.)

negatives to dvd We want your new files to be easy to use. We ask that you put no fewer than 20 and no more than 250 negatives into the same group.

  2. Bag your 35mm negatives
Place the groups of 35mm negatives in separate plastic ziplock bags. These bags will protect the 35mm slides from moisture during shipping as well as tell us how to divide your chapters. Place all of the stacks of 35mm slides in a plastic ziplock bag.

Printed Photos

If you're sending us photos to be scanned, please follow these directions. Please note that photos, slides, and negatives can not be combined into the same barcoded container and need a separate bag.

  1. Group your Photos
If you would like your digitized photos divided into separate chapters on your dvd, just group the photos into the categories that you want to work with. We ask that you put no fewer than 20 and no more than 140 photos into the same group.

  2. Bag your photos
Place the groups of photos in separate plastic ziplock bags. These bags will protect the photos from moisture damage during shipping as well as tell us how to divide your chapters. If your photos are too big to fit in a ziplock bag, we provide some larger bags in our shipping kit.

  3. Place the barcode on the bag
Attach the printable barcode to the outside of each bag that contains your photos.

  4. Package your bagged photos
We highly recommend that you pack your photos so that they cannot shift or bend during shipping.

Securing the barcoded ziplock bags in or against something that will keep them flat and placing that item into a slightly larger box with ample padding should be sufficient to protect your photos. For instance, placing your bagged photos in a folder or a stiff cardboard document envelope from a Fedex, UPS, or the Post Office and securing it in a box padded with crumpled newspaper or packing peanuts will keep your photos flat, dry, and well protected during shipping.

  5. Ship your 35mm negatives
    Send your 35mm negatives to:
